LIV CAPE TOWN ECD OPENING EVENT

Serving the community of Fisantekraal through low cost early years education, has been a dream come true for us at LIV Cape Town.

We opened the doors of our beautiful school for 80 preschool children in May this year and it has been an incredible journey of seeing God paving the way for his vision for this special community.

On Friday 13  October,  we had an official opening event to celebrate and thank all of our donors and partners who have played a role in helping us make this vision come to life. It was a beautiful sunny day, and we welcomed 120 visitors to our small school. It was a morning filled with joy and laughter as the children entertained our guests with their singing and dancing, rekindling the inner child of many of our guests who joined in on the fun.

For the first time, our guests saw the facilities they helped us build, and we were very proud to show everyone our new food garden that will help feed all the hungry mouths at our school.

It was also a special morning for the children, as we hired in jumping castles, did face painting and other fun activities in an attempt to keep their sweet tooths away from the delicious treats that were served. Luckily everything went smoothly thanks to our wonderful teachers who did a great job of distracting the children from all the excitement happening around them.

We enjoyed a few touching words from LIV’s founders, Tich and Joan Smith, who flew down to Cape Town to celebrate with us. Tich spoke about the importance of the Church stepping up and uniting to protect the orphaned and vulnerable children of our country.

Looking around the room during our speech, in which we reminisced about the journey so far, as well as our future plans of having a second-hand clothing store, a computer literacy lab, and a second school on the site in 2025, we noticed many teary eyes – a testimony to the way our partners have taken ownership of this project with us and their emotional investment to impacting these children’s lives and this community in such a positive way.

We would like to say a very special thank you to all of our guests who set aside time in their week to celebrate this milestone with us, and for helping us make this vision a reality. Without them, this would not have been possible.

You can also be part of this journey and help change the lives of many children and families by partnering with our small school. Visit our Get Involved page to find out more about giving and partnership opportunities at LIV Cape Town.

Together we can!

El Roi Baby Home Currently Closed

The El Roi Baby Home is currently closed as we are working fervently with DSD and our local municipality to re-register our home as a Child and Youth Care Centre. Please join us in praying for favour, provision, wisdom and peace as we wait on the process to be completed as soon as the Lord would allow. For more information about this process, please send us an email at babyhome@liv-lanseria.com.
