Maria came to LIV as a baby in 2008. Due to the neglect she received as a baby Maria had to overcome many intellectual and physical challenges. It has been a joy to watch Maria grow into a brave and confident young woman. She loves reading, journaling, and helping others and is known in the village for her smile and her humour.
We are so proud of Maria for persevering and completing her matric in 2023 and passing with a diploma pass. Her passion is education and her dream is to be a foundation phase teacher. Maria’s story is one of being rescued, restored, and raised as a leader and we are grateful that we have the opportunity to be a part of impacting lives for the future. Currently, she is volunteering at our LIV families afterschool program as an administration assistant. We are hopeful that Maria will be accepted into university to fulfill her dream of being a teacher, we know she will be an amazing, caring teacher to so many young children!
