SCHOOL COACH/PHYSICAL EDUCATIONAL TEACHER

We are looking for a suitably qualified innovative, dynamic, and experienced educator, who has a love and passion for children, to complement our Team. 

The successful candidate will be based at LIV Durban. 

Applicants should:

• be willing to support the Christian ethos of the school and character and share in the vision of LIV Village

Main Responsibilities

• Facilitate Physical Education (PE) lessons from Grade R to Grade 12.
• Plan, implement, assess and record PE activities and learner performance accordingly.
• Facilitate and supervise extra-mural sport sessions and activities.
• Coach and develop learners across various sporting codes.
• Mentor and support young people through sport, education and the promotion of Christian values.
• Develop learners’ physical, technical, tactical and personal skills.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of sporting events, fixtures and tournaments.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, leadership and personal development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of learners during all sporting and physical activities.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work after hours on weekends and during sporting events when required.

•  
• Relevant qualification in Sport Coaching, Sport Management, Physical Education or a related field.
• Experience participating in and/or coaching various sporting codes.
• Experience working with children, young learners and athletes.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• A passion for sport, youth development and mentoring.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Valid Police Clearance Certificate.
• Valid First Aid qualification/certification.
• A valid driver’s licence would be advantageous.
