COME TOGETHER YOUTH FESTIVAL 2023

From the 26th-28th of June, we had our second Come Together Youth Festival at LIV Durban. Over the three days, we saw around 350 young people between the ages of 13 and 17 from LIV Durban, our local community, and beyond, gathering to worship Jesus and hear the message of the gospel. We had a full programme of worship, teaching, seminars, sports, games and food accessible for all our young people attending for no cost to them.

The festival was supported by a huge team of around 110 volunteers both from on-site and off-site who came to serve at the festival. Here’s what one volunteer, Stacy, said about serving at Come Together – “Serving at the Come Together Conference revealed such a powerful revelation of the beauty of everyone coming together from different parts of the world, to fulfil the purpose of serving God, worshipping together, and most importantly, being one in Christ. It was such a glorious experience. Just witnessing the lives of young people being transformed in those three days was indeed awe-inspiring and priceless.”

Come Together confernce

We were amazed that many children encountered Jesus in very significant ways and gave their lives to Him, and we have seen the fruit of this life-changing decision in a number of the young people here at LIV. One boy, known for getting into mischief, chose to walk away when his friends were causing trouble and when asked why, he said “I follow Jesus now”.

We asked some of the children at LIV Durban what they liked about their experience at Come Together and here are some quotes from them:

“The Come Together Festival encouraged me to know that God is always with me”

“At Come Together I gave my life to Jesus.”

“I enjoyed getting to know other people, but mostly getting to know Jesus and worshipping Him. It has helped me to grow into a better person.”

“At Come Together I learnt what it means to thirst for God.”

“Come Together was fun because I was in the worship team and I got to see everyone worshipping Jesus.”

“It taught me that dancing is not just fun or performing for people, it can also be to worship Jesus.”

“I enjoyed Come Together because I got the chance to hear about God and I talked to Jesus for the first time.”

El Roi Baby Home Currently Closed

The El Roi Baby Home is currently closed as we are working fervently with DSD and our local municipality to re-register our home as a Child and Youth Care Centre. Please join us in praying for favour, provision, wisdom and peace as we wait on the process to be completed as soon as the Lord would allow. For more information about this process, please send us an email at babyhome@liv-lanseria.com.
