The result of sheer grit
The story of our matric class of 2019, has been one of great perseverance, faith and sheer grit. When one thinks about what it takes to pass Grade 12, the usual answers are always “Work hard and make good notes, etc.” But our 2019 matric students showed so much more than that.
Their journey over the past five years has been one of incredible self-development in the face of almost insurmountable obstacles. During their final year of school, it was clear that all four students embraced their own learning process by cultivating a culture of perseverance by working through the tough times. In doing this, they have been able to look back on 2019 and testify that it has been the year of the Lord’s favour.
We are pleased to announce that the four students of our matric class of 2019 have attained a 100% pass rate, with all four of the students attaining a Bachelor Pass.
Thank you all around
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the FET, Senior, Intermediate and Foundation Phase teachers for their commitment, hard work and persistence. LIV School is a place where the Lord’s words come alive, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
To the mothers of LIV Village, we salute you. Without your care, sacrifice and unconditional love, our children would not succeed. To all the support services, LIV Leadership Team and our founders, Tich and Joan Smith; thank you for your obedience and showing the world that with God all things are possible. Finally, a massive thank you to all our donors, volunteers and long-term Village friends. We could not accomplish our vision without your continued support, involvement and enthusiasm.
Well done!
The matric class of 2019 can start out on their adult walk without any lingering sense of guilt or unworthiness, being conscious not so much of their faith as of God’s faithfulness. For as the scripture says, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). And “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
To the Class of 2019, congratulations! We would like to wish you all the best with your studies and future endeavours.
