We are looking for a suitably qualified innovative, dynamic, and experienced teacher, who has a love and passion for young people, to join our LIV School team.
The successful candidate will be based at LIV Durban and will be managing a group of approximately 20 high school students engaged in online learning.
Applicants should have:
-Bachelor of Education degree or Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
-At least 3 years’ experience in teaching Senior Phase and / or FET Phase learners. Experience in online education is an advantage.
-Sound knowledge of and competence in using Microsoft Office applications and the Windows 10 Operating System.
-Proficient in keeping track of and managing learners’ timetables and keeping of attendance registers.
-NGO and Ministry experience advantageous.
Core Competencies:
-An ability to assimilate new knowledge and guide learners in subject areas outside your area of expertise.
-Sound communication skills. IsiZulu an advantage.
-Troubleshooting computer hardware issues.
-Personal time management and the ability to coach young people into effective planning and commitment to learning goals.
-The ability to motivate and build rapport with a group of young people as well as skill in one-to-one coaching towards academic goals.
-Organisational skills, experience organising field trips an advantage.
-Exercising creativity in setting up learning environments optimally conducive to learning.
