LIV Village relies on the partnership of many individuals and businesses to allow us to care for our children ; one of our key business partners for many years has been Deloitte. On Sunday 2 September we had the privilege of hosting 400 of their senior partners from across Africa as part of the launch day of their Global Leadership Summit. Our marketing team worked with Deloitte to plan an afternoon that made a practical contribution to the village and allowed their partners to have some fun and interaction with our children.

- Ruwayda Redfern, the Manager of Deloitte Durban, welcoming the partners.
After an address from Tich Smith and Ruwayda Redfearn (Durban Managing) the partners participated in four separate activities; 1) Workshops addressing some of LIV’s strategic challenges 2) Painting of the School Admin and Principals offices 3) Basketball with our children 4) Planting of around 60 trees in the new dam (in total over 200 trees and shrubs were purchased as part of this initiative).

Following the basketball and planting activities most of the partners joined our LIV children on the school field to compete in some traditional sports games such as egg and spoon, wheelbarrow races and a tug of war. The event was finished off with thank you’s and a performance by the choir. It was a very successful and fun event and further strengthens the partnership between Deloitte and LIV.
