As we enter our 9th week of our 11 week tour and look back at the extraordinary journey we have been on, we continue to be humbled by God’s lavish love and provision through so many amazing servant-hearted people across the UK who have opened their homes, hearts, churches, festivals and schools to us, loving us and looking after us wherever we have been. Words can never express our gratitude and the warmth we have felt as they have embraced us all. Once more we are reminded that love never fails and that together we CAN change the world, one child at a time. We have watched our children respond to this lavish outpouring of love towards them. They have grown in stature and self belief, and are transforming in front of our eyes. As their tour parents, and mentors, they have challenged and stretched us and we too have learnt and grown as we have journeyed with them. They now know that God really does have a plan and purpose for their lives and that they have a place and a part to play in this world. To say we are proud of them and who they are becoming is an understatement. We can’t wait to see them enter into adulthood and have the pleasure of seeing the potential in them unfold.
God continues to open doors for us to walk through. Some of these unexpected doors have been the surprise invitations for us to speak and sing on three radio broadcasts sharing about the tour and the book (‘When Grace Showed Up’), culminating with the choir performing yesterday on BBC TV. What an experience for them to be filmed in the studio and then watch themselves singing on TV in England! This has, within 12 hours, already had over 64,000 views on Facebook! We could never have dared to imagine the doors that have opened up for us.
Everywhere we go people, who have come to hear them tell their story / their journey of how God has rescued them, restored their lives, and is raising them up as future leaders to be released one day as stars, have been blown away by the quality of the production, but most important and exciting of all have been the report-backs of how they have been changed and challenged to do more and go further. Lives have truly been touched and changed. Before we left God told us to pray for hearts to be opened – heart to heart connections between the children and the UK people. He showed us that He was sending these children as His arrows into this nation. We had no idea what a supernatural impact they would have.
We have criss-crossed this nation from Aberdeen in Scotland, including a brief visit to Wales where they have the Eisteddfod every year (they have invited us to attend next year!), down to Devon and Cornwall and the festivals in Shepton Mallet, as well as visits in between to Birmingham, Stafford, Sheffield, Nottingham, Norfolk and many other places. Our final 2 weeks in the UK are in Southhampton, Eastbourne, Brighton and back to London to spend our last 5 days with our Soul Survivor friends in Watford, with our banquet on the 1st September at South Africa House in Trafalgar Square.
A special thank you to all at Soul Survivor festivals. We were welcomed, befriended and embraced by over 25,000 young people at the 5 festivals over these past 6 weeks ending with a party of all parties as we worshiped and danced on stage with 9,000 teenagers and a somewhat sluggish of feet Mike Pilavachi as he attempted to dance Africa style with us. We pray all the young people will go back home to their churches and communities with a new sense of belief and purpose that they too can change the world as they share the love of Jesus with a dying world. Many blessings from a warm and sunny England.
