February 9th 2018 marked a big day for LIV, as we hosted our first Golf day. The day was supported fantastically by local businesses who put aside the time to attend the event, but also paid to play and sponsor some of the holes. Land Rover Durban was the main sponsor of the event. Holes were sponsored by Private Property, Southern Africa PGA Tour, Brightrock and OnRamp Training Platform.
Windy conditions presented the players with some challenges on the day, but did not dampen the overall mood. Particularly hole 15 created excitement amongst the players with the possibility of winning a Range Rover for a hole in one.
Two of our LIV Students attended the golf day and were out on the course selling biltong as part of a Business Studies project, but also had the opportunity of getting to know some of the players. Meeting the guest of honour, Shaun Pollock, was a highlight of their day.
After the 18th hole, the day was completed with a dinner, prize giving, auction, as well as a special performance by the LIV Choir. The special guest of the evening was Mrs South Africa, who handed out the prizes to some of the winners.
The day was a huge success, and we hope that those involved on the day had as much fun attending as we did organising it. We would also like to thank Luxe Events for the great part they played in the planning and execution of a very successful day.
