LIV School is making waves in the Durban Basketball Scene. Our teams are really going from strength to strength and it is amazing to see how this sport binds our children together and cultivates a beautiful bond of camaraderie within our teams.
The LIV Girls Basketball Team competed in two different leagues this year; The Durban and District Basketball League as well as The Ethekwini Basketball Association League (EBA). We are extremely proud to announce that our team won both these leagues.
They played twelve matches in the Durban and District League and was unbeatable. The final was against Westville Girls’ High and LIV won with a score of 32-8.
In the EBA our girls played 53 matches and only lost one. The final was against Dorothy Team and LIV won with a score of 22-11. This is the second consecutive year that our team has brought home this trophy.
Two of the LIV Girls’ Basketball team members are part of the Ethekwini District U/20 team and they will be participating in South African Local Government Association (SALGA) in December this year. We are wide-eyed and waiting in anticipation to see how our girls will fare against these much older competitors.
The team never seizes to amaze us with their team work and beautiful sportsmanship. We want to thank their coach, Lindani Koyana, for all the time he invests into the team to make sure that they get amazing opportunities and develop their talents.
