The Deloitte Challenge was started 4 years ago as a partnership between Deloitte and LIV Village with all proceeds of the event being donated to the Village. The event has grown from strength to strength and this year offered 5 different racing options namely 42km, 21km, 10km, 5km fun run and 40km MTB race. The route for these different options follows along the M4 which is considered flat by athletes and many participate to attain their Personal Best’s (PB’s) or use it as a training run for The Comrades.
This year, yet again, the Deloitte Challenge was one of the big highlights for us as a village. We saw over 80 children, mothers and staff taking part. Not only did we enjoy the event together as a family but we cried together as a child who could previously not run 50m ran over the finish line and cheered together as one of our older boys clocked the 10km in 37 minutes. It was also so special to see some of our mothers taking part and many receiving their first medal.
