LIV Village is 100% reliant on donors and sponsors and feel strongly about looking after those who have been loyally supporting our vision for so many years. Our donors are truly part of LIV and we are so grateful for the way they buy into vision. We had the privilege to welcome them to our very first Donor Appreciation Tea on the 1st June, an event that has been greatly looked forward to by everyone on the village.
As everyone began to arrive the sun moved just behind a large tree to give our guests some shelter from the bright sunshine and the party began. This was such a family orientated event with the LIV Mothers and LIV Staff baking all the treats and everyone bringing what they had in terms of crockery, cutlery and décor in order to make this such a special event.
The LIV Mothers looked stunning as they sat down alongside the donors to enjoy the entertainment from some of the children. The ECD-kids sang a couple of songs to begin the programme before the choir performed to the audience of about 150 people. We were then treated to 3 songs from Generation 246, a band made up of a group of the older boys on the village who have recently led worship in the churches all over Durban. A very professional performance from some of our very talented young men and a real showcase of the stars we have here on the village! Some of our aspirant poets shared poetry and speeches. The afternoon was rounded off with an address from Carita McCririe, Head of Marketing and co-leader of LIV, thanking our donors for coming and also for the incredible contribution they make to the village.
As the day ended, our guests were invited on a tour of the village, visiting the different departments and also seeing the houses. Many of our visitors stayed around to talk to the children and also visited our small shop on the village. We had such a fun day welcoming our wider family into our home and blessing them with a special party to say thank you!
