Job Requirements (including minimum Qualifications & Experience):
- Degree in Finance/Accounting
- Experience working in a financial environment for more than 3 years.
- Proficiency in Pastel would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- A multitasker with the ability to wear many hats in a limited resource environment
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the vision of LIV
- Competent in the basic MS Office packages.
- Use of own vehicle would be beneficial
Basic Duties:
Assisting the Head of Finance with the implementation of various internal control measures to prevent unnecessary financial losses. To further assist with ad hoc project requests from different departments. To ensure the continuous adherence to routine internal controls, by all LIV NPC departments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports in an accurate and timely manner to internal management and external stakeholders; collate financial reporting materials for all project segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
- Coordinate the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
- Keep an updated Asset Register.
- Prepare routine audit supporting documentation
- Answering of audit queries
- Manage the financial control environment to ensure sufficient internal controls are in place in all financial processes and business processes. Where gaps are identified work with the rest of the team to implement the controls needed to ensure good financial controls are in place.
- Handling routine queries from various departments
- Performing company secretarial duties and completion of board reports
- Implementing effective cost control on recurring expenditure and the regular revision of debit orders to avoid wasteful expenditure
- Assist with stock control and monthly reconciliations
- Assist the financial department to effectively process payments and do releases on the payment request system
- Oversee the setup and operation of the LIV Café and LIV Store on site
- Regular revision and updating of employee benefits
- Assist with government subsidies – new applications and management of existing applications (i.e. Sassa and Dept of Education)
