LIV Business is a leg of LIV which endeavors to generate an income that will help sustain the operational villages in the long run. At the moment, LIV Business successfully implemented a turnaround strategy which has improved overall operations and provided stability and financial control of the businesses and LIV Investments.
The Unilever Moringa Project remains the focus of the LIV Agriculture team, who has successfully grown 80 000 seedlings from seeds to juvenile plants in our hydroponic tunnels since November 2018. All 80 000 seedlings have now been transplanted into the fields and are doing well. We expect our first harvest in January 2020 and are hoping to achieve a one ton yield in year one, increasing to a two ton yield the following season.
LIV Labels continues to show improved profitability and has proven to be an attractive recipient of ED and SD funding. We are in the process of trialing samples for potential new business and securing this contract will ensure significant growth in the 2020 financial year.
We’re immensely grateful for the ongoing support of our partners.
Our associate companies, LIV Clean and Emcom and have delivered pleasing results and improved performance.
We remain deliberate in our purpose to be part of the solution and celebrate each small step towards achieving our goal of meaningful impact!
– Lee Shutte, CEO of LIV Business
