BRINGING CHANGE ON A LARGE SCALE
Everything we do at LIV is aimed at rescuing vulnerable children, restoring their lives, and raising up the next generation of leaders, leaving a legacy for those to come.
We’re passionate about unleashing the potential of every child. Each of our villages has its own unique programmes and initiatives, all designed to help children reach their full potential and become the stars they were created to be.

Orphaned and vulnerable children are rescued by the Department of Social Services & other child-protection services and then placed at LIV, where they receive love and care.
Children
LIV recreates family life in multiple ways. Restoration happens with the help of trained foster mothers, qualified staff and volunteers through our various villages and programmes.
Lives
LIV BELIEVES THAT EVERY CHILD HAS A GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE AND TALENT. ACROSS THE NATION AT OUR VILLAGES AND PROJECTS, WE WORK TO NURTURE AND RAISE UP CHILDREN TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL.

OUR FOOTPRINT
LIV has a national footprint in South Africa, with our flagship village based in Durban. LIV Central is based in Umhlanga and responsible to oversee and steward the governance of LIV as we grow.

LIV Durban:
LIV Durban is our flagship village. It is a fully functioning village offering our children a family environment to grow up in, an onsite school, as well as tertiary training facilities for our children and the community. LIV Business helps us create jobs for our community and long-term
sustainability for the village.

LIV Cape Town:
LIV Cape Town operates an Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre in Fisantekraal, where we provide access to high-quality education and holistic care for vulnerable children. Future plans include social enterprises that offer skills training and employment opportunities to the community. We also aspire to open a school dedicated to supporting children with learning challenges.

LIV Lanseria:
LIV Lanseria offers various life-giving programmes to the children in our care and the surrounding community. Through LIV Families, El Roi Baby Home, Refilwe preschool, Ithuteng afterschool and our Children's and Teen Ministry, we have a heart to serve the community by positively impacting the children in as many ways as possible.

LIV Langkloof:
LIV Langkloof provides a place of safety for vulnerable children in the Twee Riviere, Langkloof community. Here they receive loving holistic care, counselling and relief through various interventions so they can grow up to reach their full potential.
LIV Lukhanyiso:
LIV Lukhanyso has been working closely with existing children's homes and vulnerable children within the Makhanda/Grahamstown community since 2016 and we eagerly await breaking ground on our 80-acre donated land.

LIV Thokomala:
LIV Thokomala has 11 homes across the country where vulnerable children are given natural family care from a foster mother within their local community so they can thrive and have hope for a bright future.

LIV Central was launched due to the expansion of the LIV footprint through more villages being onboarded, to oversee and steward the governance and growth of our villages and projects.

OUR STORY
Our story began from a vision birthed in the heart of Tich Smith in 1997, and after working in the Amaoti community for many years, LIV Village opened in Durban in 2011.
Since then, LIV has expanded to 5 more villages and projects across the country, which are in various stages of development with more growth to come.
