LIV Flowers is 75% owned by LIV. Due to the premium quality of the flowers, the potential for this business is huge. It is now imperative that we expand in order to unlock future growth.
When funding in available, green houses will be built at LIV Village. These will enable us to better serve the markets that have already been secured, and also to look into the exciting opportunity of exporting our flowers.
We are hoping to expand this business into the communities where we will train and motivate potential farmers to grow their own flowers – in line with the “own grower” model. LIV will then buy the produce from growers and distribute into the market. We believe this “own grower” model will contribute significantly to making these communities self- sustainable.
Our future plans include having a value add centre on LIV Village for bouquet making for major retail markets. We are also looking to partner with government to provide opportunity for agri- and horticultural graduates to fulfill their practical training on the LIV farm. These students will also get entrepreneurial training, so they will not only be equipped to successfully grow cut flowers and other produce, but also empowered to manage their own businesses.
