July – a Month of Giving

The month of July was a busy and exciting month at LIV Village. The month kicked off with a mission team from Moving Into Action (MIA) who volunteered at the Village for a week. Please open the link to have a look at what MIA did at LIV Village.

Nelson Mandela Day celebration at LIV Village

On 11th July, we took all the LIV Children into the Cottonlands Community to hand out blankets and other items to the community. As we raise our children as leaders of our nation, we need to raise them up as leaders who are conscious of the need to give. Here are some photographs of the day from our Facebook page.

On 16th July we celebrated Nelson Mandela Day at the Village. Our morning started with our children handing out sandwiches to Cottonlands Primary School followed by visits to the Village from UKZN, Capital Catering, Barrows and other individuals. We put together a short video of the day.

At the end of the month, it was a real privilege to have a visit from Ian McIntosh and Pieter Muller from SA Rugby Legends. Our boys showed off their rugby skills and by the end of the practice, Ian was blown away by our boys’ rugby skills. I am sure we will have some future Sharks players from LIV Village!

On the 14th of Aug, we are launching LIV as a charity in the  UK to raise awareness and funds. We are excited to have special guests such as John Smit, Shaun Pollock and Gary Kirsten at the event. Please keep Tich and Joan in your prayers for this exciting event!
